As the Transition Movement continues to grow and mature, there is an increasing interest in researching its innovations, impacts and potential limitations from a wide variety of disciplinary perspectives. Published work explores issues as diverse as urban regeneration, green citizenship, spirituality and sustainability, low carbon economies, social movements, and sustainable education. This workshop seeks to build on this momentum by providing an opportunity for a range of stakeholders to come together, share their work and explore potential future directions. Intended participants include academic researchers, Transition activists and those involved in other community-led approaches to sustainability and economic regeneration. The format of the day will be fairly open, with a small number of invited speakers, including members of the Transition Network, as well as time to identify and explore cross-cutting themes and to network with other attendees.
Networking
There are a number of travel bursaries available for low-income participants, representatives of Transition Initiatives and postgraduate researchers. Details of how to apply can be requested by emailing the organisers.
