The Manchester Beacon for Public Engagement in partnership with the Manchester Science Festival present a sharing and networking opportunity at the Museum of Science & Industry to launch the Manchester Beacon Summit 2010...
This session draws together the learning from 4 innovative Community Science projects that were awarded Beacon funding as part of the Manchester Science Festival 2010. Explore how local groups and researchers came together to explore scientific themes, find out how approaches might be improved and celebrate the success of these projects:
- "The Scientific Dragon's Den"
- "Climate change testimonies from refugees: connecting scientific and social debates"
- "The Art of Science: Wriggling Rangoli"
- "Transforming Guns into Goods using Joules Law of electricity"
The session will be followed by lunch and an opportunity to network.
Of particular interest to: public engagement practitioners, researchers and community groups
Please note travel expenses for third/voluntary sector unwaged guests will be covered by the Manchester Beacon. Please bring your travel ticket with you to be reimbursed on the day.
